Navigating the XCOM Wiki

Overview

'Categories' are used for navigation within the XCOM namespace. Think of them as 'Indexes' rather than 'Tables of Contents'. They appear in a separate box at the bottom of each page linked to them. The Top Level Category is Category:XCOM.

'Pages' are used to describe things and have explanatory text, while 'Subcategory Pages' are collections of links to 'Pages'. If a 'Category' is not added to a 'Page', then that page will not appear in that collection of Category links. 'Category' links must be manually added to a page by including '[[Category:<category name>]]' on it's own line at the bottom of the page text. See Guidelines for new posts - XCOM:EU 2012.

As a result, the first page you see is the Category 'XCOM', which is the 'Master Index' of the XCOM namespace. It is the broadest collection of articles. Each of the sub-categories narrows down the focus of the articles.

Here is the roadmap of how the Wiki 'XCOM' name space is organized into Categories. It is not completely encompassing at all levels, but rather shows the general structure.

Don't forget the SEARCH function (bottom of the Navigation bar on the left) when looking for articles as well.
